Karel Havlíček

Karel Havlíček is a Czech composer of film and television music, pianist and multi-instrumentalist based between Prague and Los Angeles. His work blends contemporary classical music, electronic music and film music. Intimate piano motifs alternate with expansive orchestral passages, distinctive melodies and electronic textures. A flair for atmosphere and dramatic development links his work for the silver screen with his own concert repertoire. On his solo album Spoken (2020), he combined piano, electronics and a full orchestra. This was followed by the ambient project Pregnancy Music (2024), the double album It’s Never Late to See the Light (2025) and the single Return of the Sun (2026).

In his concert work, he blends a powerful orchestral sound with piano, electronics and a striking visual element. He has premiered his music with members of the Prague Philharmonia orchestra and has also performed at Prague’s O2 Universum. His concert career spans stages across Europe – including Ibiza – as well as Los Angeles, Chicago, Singapore, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

He has composed the music for the films Bratři, Néma tajemství, Ghoul and Říkají mi LARS, as well as for the American films Lion Ark and Carpe Noctem. His television work includes the HBO series Terapie and Mamon, as well as music for Události and ČT24.

He has also composed music for the American trailers for the series The Penguin (HBO) and ELLE (Prime Video), as well as for the film Brothers After War.

In 2024, he received a Czech Lion nomination in the Best Music category for his score for the film Brothers. In 2026, OSA ranked him among the three most successful Czech popular music composers abroad.

Havlíček is a co-founder of Prague-based Kabelovna Studios and a brand ambassador for PETROF.
