Jonathan Roy
Canadian singer Jonathan Roy grew up as a hockey player, being the son of sport legend Patrick Roy. But music played a central role in his mind: as a teenager he listened to the Backstreet Boys and John Mayer. In 2009, he debuted with the album What I've Become; three years later, his father helped him arrange a meeting with famed 80s singer Corey Hart, who contracted Jonathan at the Warner Music subsidiary he runs and sang a duet with him. Described by the Montreal Gazette as something between Ed Sheeran, Paolo Nutini and Bob Marley's greatest hits. Roy has since released five more studio albums, the latest of which is 2023's Life Distortions.
