Jazz Band Młynarski-Masecki

Pianist Marcin Masecki together with Jan Emil Mlynarski established an ensemble referring to the old tradition of Polish interwar jazz orchestras. The artists somehow make up for the lost opportunities of the whole generation of Polish entertainment artists, who, in the blossoming of prosperity, had to flee, fight, die, emigrate, orphaning Polish entertainment music in an irreparable way. Marcin's arrangements and Janek's voice give the whole thing a completely new breath, making this music current and useful, for dance and emotion.

During the October concert the Białołęka audience will hear the material from Płyta z zadrą sercu. It is the title of one of the songs of one of the greatest Polish lyricists of the 20th century - Marian Hemar. This time Marcin and Janek decided to go one step further and fulfill their great dream of a real jazz orchestra. They added a violin section and trumpets and trombones to the basic line-up, which consisted of 7 people. In this way a 17-person band was formed with a much wider range of sounds. The album will include songs mainly from the late 30s and early 40s of the last century. All of them are Polish hits, well known in the old days, now somewhat forgotten. The musicians, looking at old photographs and deserving of Polish and American orchestras, decided to create a world where World War II didn't take place and where the dance asbestos in Poland don't cease to exist and play drawing on all the benefits of modernity.
