Jan Maxián

Jan Maxián (born 16 July 1983 in Prague) is a Czech theatre, film, television and radio actor, dubber and musician.

Jan Maxián is the son of the pianist Professor František Maxián Jr. and the violinist and violist Monika Maxiánová, grandson of František Maxián Sr., world-famous pianist and teacher. He is one of the founding members of the so-called "new circus" Cirk La Putyka, where from the very beginning, together with Vojta Dyke and Jakub Prachař, they have formed an acting and musical “triumvirate”, also known as Tros Discotequos. He was a member of the Czech musical group Nightwork, which was one of the most popular music bands in the Czech Republic for several years. He is also the author of many song lyrics of various musical genres.

He graduated from the State Conservatory in Prague, majoring in music and drama, and during his studies he also enrolled in a music composition course. He attended composition and piano courses at the Dortmund Conservatory. He has performed in many theatres, including the Kalich, the State Opera, the East Bohemian Theatre in Pardubice and others, where he has played roles in drama and musical performances. He has also taken the lead role in Michal Horáček's unique project Kudykam. He has filmed numerous roles in Czech and foreign films and series. He cooperates with most Czech television productions and also records for radio. He composes and records music for Czech and foreign films and series, composes music for commercials, theatre and radio plays and is the author of several Czech musicals, such as Quasimodo by the Hybernia Theatre.
