Founded in 2001, the Institute of Documentary Film supports creative documentary films and filmmakers from Central & Eastern Europe.
The Institute of Documentary Film (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support and promotion of East European creative documentary film. Our activities are designed for filmmakers, independent producers and representatives of Central and East European broadcasters, as well as for festival programmers, journalists and the general public. IDF cooperates with some of Europe's most prominent associations and training programmes, commissioning editors and distributors, and helps connect East European film professionals with the international documentary community.
