Hilary Woods
The Irish musician Hilary Woods started her career in the early 2000s as the bassist of alternative rock band JJ72, which she was in until 2003; she reemerged a decade later as a solo artist with the project The River Cry. Since 2014, she has been releasing music under her own name, gradually moving from moody, nocturnal art pop to harrowing dark ambient throghout her three albums for Sacred Bones Records. Her latest release is the 2023 album Acts of Light, built around drones, field recordings and choral compositions.
