Hala Barankowa

Situated at the foot of Mount Babia, Zawoja is the longest village in Poland. The unique nature protected within the Babia Góra National Park, as well as the best known features of the Polish mountains, i.e. the rich folklore passed down from generation to generation and the old shepherding traditions, are only some of the things that make Zawoja stand out among other Beskid villages. Every year many tourists visit the Beskid Żywiecki and many of them stay in Zawoja. The dense network of tourist trails allows tourists to plan day-long excursions to the peak of Mount Babia, or short walks to the surrounding hills and scenic glades.

For a good start of the stay in Zawoja one should visit the Barankowa Glade, which offers a beautiful view of Mount Babia. It is here, in the warmer months, that the highlanders graze sheep and thanks to this you can see what a real shepherd's hut looks like and learn about the shepherd's traditions.
