Hage-o
Hage-o, a power trio from Warsaw active since 2019, calls their sound warm-core – a good reflection of the wholesomeness of their music, which lifts the hearts of even the biggest cynics of the Warsaw independent scene. At their first shows, they handed out songbooks to listeners, which was an apt move – they've very much perfected the art of the pop song. The counterpoint-heavy songwriting of singer and guitarist Maciek Peplonski (ex-Bezgwiezdnie, Kry) brings to mind Japanese rock bands in the vein of Tricot or The Cabs, but its unique lyrical and musical flair is hard to compare to anything else. This, combined with the flawlessly tight rhythm section of bassist Grzegorz Maciag and drummer Julek Horodyski (Dłonie), as well as an idiosyncratic sense of humor, won Hage-o a cult following even before the release of their debut.
