Green Gate
The Gdansk Green Gate is a historic water gate—a type of structure within medieval city walls, allowing access to the city from the waterfront. In its present form it was built between 1564 and 1568 by Regnier of Amsterdam and the Dresdener Hans Kramer, as the Gdansk residence of the kings of Poland.
Currently, the Green Gate is a department of the National Museum in Gdansk; it houses rooms for temporary exhibitions and the Department of Photography with a collection of old and contemporary photography and an exhibition space—the Gdansk Gallery of Photography.
