Band was formed in 2001 in London. Their sound has been described as a cross between space rock and chamber pop. On their 2004 debut they combined bleating sheep, broken music boxes, and distorted harps into a brand of wallowing operetta pop. It took a solid 13 years for the release of the second album, but The Machine That Made Us is just as megalomaniac, oddly psychedelic, and emotionally seizing.
