Five The Hierophant

Five The Hierophant is a band that is difficult to clearly categorise. Although they theoretically fall within the metal framework, their music transcends genre boundaries, creating a mix of genre-bending avant-garde, dark jazz, post-rock atmospherics and drone trance. The band was formed on the initiative of Krzysztof Włodarczyk (known to Polish listeners from Witchmaster) and Chris Hancox, who, in their search for a new sound, opted for creative freedom and a lack of stylistic restrictions. They took their first steps as early as 2015, releasing their debut EP, but it wasn't until their 2017 album Over Phlegethon that their style fully took shape. This unusual blend of avant-garde metal and dark jazz won the band numerous fans, especially among those looking for something more than typical metal. After releasing two more EPs, the band released their second album, Through Aureate Void, in 2021, which continues their unique approach to music.
