Vetri decided to find her fellow former child soldiers. They, like her, fought for the independence of the Tamil state in northern Sri Lanka. Talking together, they open up the traumas of war and reveal stories that were meant to be forgotten.

Vetri joined the Tamil Tigers at age 16 to fight in the more than 25-year-long civil war in Sri Lanka. And with her, thousands of other young girls joined the organisation, some voluntarily, others by force. Although the war ended in 2009, the scars have not yet healed. Many women have permanent physical and mental disabilities. While the current government is monitoring former Tamil Tiger members and trying to prevent their members from seeing each other, Vetri organises therapeutic meetings where wounded women can relax, dance, and be with those who have suffered the same fate. This documentary, created over four years, is a testimony about the consequences of one of the most brutal civil wars of recent times, but primarily a portrait of a woman who today helps disabled women but was once one of those girls who were involuntarily recruited to be a Tamil soldier.
