In 1999 DJ Mess has visited Jamaica for the first time. The culture on this island impressed him so much that he has started presenting himself as a DJ playing reggae and dancehall. In 2004 and 2007, he flew to Jamaica again, gained contacts from the artists on the island and began recording dubplates.
