Czerń

The history of Warsaw's Czerń dates back to 2013. The group's original lineup consisted of Jan Fronczak (guitar), Bernard Sierakowski (bass), Dariusz Andrzejewski (vocals) and Arkadiusz Lerch (drums), known from bands like Nothing Between Us and Born Anew. Although hailing from a hardcore background, the group flirted with various styles from the beginning; their 2014 debut releases, the EP Nie ze skały, a ze strachu and a split with Kaldera, clearly marked a fascination with sludge metal. Czerń returned to the scene after a hiatus of several years in 2019, with Andrzejewski replaced as vocalist by Łukasz Zając of the grindcore outfit F.A.M.; with this lineup, the group released its first full-length album Zgliszcza (Selfmadegod, 2020) and its most recent release to date, a self-titled EP from 2022.
