Czarnina

Czernina is a group of artists whose hearts beat eastwards. They draw inspiration from the traditional ethnic sounds of the wider Orient, with a particular focus on Romani music. Exploring history, tradition and culture, and above all, walking in the footsteps of the Roma, the musicians reinterpret traditional Roma, Romanian, Balkan and Middle Eastern melodies. Their shows feature songs sung in different languages and dialects, characterised by strong expression and a distinctive acoustic sound. This is music full of lively improvisations, sentimental melodies and a truth that always resounds on stage. Djelem, djelem... - the Roma sing, which means, I wandered, I wandered... Czernina's shows are a musical journey that begins in India and rolls through the various countries the Roma have visited over the years, leaving behind their most precious musical treasure, a piece of their free soul, which will probably always remain in constant motion. Czernina consists of singer and percussionist Nina Kodorska, accordionist Patryk Walczak, reed player Oliwier Andruszczenko and guitarist Hipolit Wozniak.
