Centrum paměti a dialogu Bubny

The Bubny Centre for Memory and Dialogue is a cultural and educational institution whose mission is to preserve the memory of the victims of the Shoah and to be a living place that connects the past with the present through educational and cultural programmes. Interdisciplinary activities for the public and schools aim to promote tolerance, mutual understanding and intercultural dialogue. It seeks new forms of commemoration linked to the historical memory of the site and encourages responsibility and personal involvement in the fight against all forms of anti-Semitism, racism, hatred and discrimination.

It will be housed in the reconstructed building of the Prague-Bubny railway station, from where almost fifty thousand Czechoslovak Jews and persons identified as Jews were deported between 1941 and 1945.

(CpdB) is a contributory organisation of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.

The name Centre for Memory and Dialogue Bubny reflects the new vision and values of the organisation, which seeks to build stronger links with the community, the general public and partners. It refers to a place of memory and at the same time expresses the essence of its functioning - it respects the past, but evokes a living centre of action, while also having a commemorative and educational dimension.
