Big band Pražského salónního orchestru
The PSO Big Band features 5 saxophones, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones and a full rhythm section.
Its main domain is concerts, but it also plays at balls and other social events. The main basis of his repertoire consists of swing and jazz compositions by black and white world famous musicians (G. Gerschwin, D. Ellington, C. Basie, C. Porter, R. Rodgers, I. Berlin, G. Miller etc.), but also Czech composers (V. Hála, M. Ducháč, J. Ježek, K. Krautgartner, J. Šlitr etc.). Many of the pieces have Latin-American rhythms, but also concert waltzes or polkas, even the czardas and similar national dances. During concerts, singers Richard Tesařík, Jan Smigmator, jazz singer Petra Vlková, vocal group Zdekvartet and other guests often perform as guests. The selection of songs is guided by the audience for which the production is intended, so as to satisfy all generations of listeners.
