The Warsaw Barbican is a barbican (semicircular fortified outpost) and one of few remaining relics of the complex network of historic fortifications that once encircled Warsaw. Located between the Old and New Towns, it is a major tourist attraction. Currently it also hosts a permanent exhibition of the Museum of Warsaw – dedicated to the Old Town and fortification system, it is open for visitors only in the summer.
