Austere
Austere's origins date back to 2005, when it was still a one-man project formed by Mitchell ‘Desolate’ Keepin, and after Tim ‘Sorrow’ Yatras joined the line-up, the duo released their debut album Withering Illusions and Desolation in 2007. After To Lay Like Old Ashes, released in 2009, Austere broke up, only to return to the living in 2021. Since then, they have given the world two new albums – Corrosion of Hearts (2023) and Beneath the Threshold, released in 2024 via Prophecy Records. They did not play their first gig until 2022. The band's music is described as depressive black metal. It is laced with great melodies and a hangry, sepulchral atmosphere.
