Anneke van Giersbergen
Anneke van Giersbergen became known to a worldwide audience as frontwoman of the Dutch band The Gathering. However, she has also worked on her own account a number of times, whether under the name Agua de Annique, under her own name or in the prog-metal band VUUR – her most recent solo release being 2021's Darkest Skies Are The Brightest. Most often, van Giersbergen lends her voice to projects exploring atmospheric rock or melodic and often epic strains of metal. Besides her solo work, she's collaborated with such as Within Temptation, Anathema, Moonspell, and even Napalm Death.
