Ankor

The music group Ankor is an alternative metal band originating from Catalonia, Spain. The band was formed in 2003 in the village of Els Pallaresos near Barcelona. The current lineup consists of vocalist Jessie Williams (Bristol, United Kingdom), drummer Eleni Nota (Athens, Greece), guitarists David Romeu and Fito Martinez, and bassist Julio López (all from Catalonia).

Ankor released their first studio album Al Fin Descansar in 2007, sung in Spanish and characterized by a sound focused on classic metal. In 2011, they released the album My Own Angel, their first album in English, followed by Last Song For Venus, which brought them wider recognition.

In 2022, they released the single Prisoner, which surpassed 3 million streams and marked the beginning of a new era for the band. This was followed by conceptually connected singles such as Oblivion, Darkbeat, Stereo, and Venom, each accompanied by its own music video.

In 2024, Ankor signed with the Australian independent label UNFD and released the mini album Shoganai, which includes songs released in 2023 and 2024. In June 2024, they released the single Embers, which combines EDM elements with the band’s characteristic melodies.
