Makiko Goto & KINDLING

This evening will consist of a concert of a Makiko Goto and screening of films called Kidling. This evening is part of the International Shakuhachi Festival Prague 2019.

Extraordinary koto virtuoso Makiko Goto will perform contemporary music for her ancient instrument: from cunning rhythmic and melodic gradations of Tadao Sawai, experimental aleatorics of Vlastislav Matoušek, to the world premiere by Lucie Vítková for koto, strings and other Japanese instruments, shakuhachi and hichiriki. KINDLING is a series of four Czech experimental films that navigate between dance, minimalist sculpture and social essay. With the accompaniment of live music, these films by Květa Přibylová, Martin Klusák, Jan Rybář, and Marek Matvija bring new perspectives on landscapes and the sounds within.
