Alestorm + Gloryhammer + more
The Scottish pirates of Alestorm return to Poland in the company of Gloryhammer, Windy Rose and Rumahoy.
Alestorm, mainly in love with drinking rum and stealing ships, are returning to Poland to show that metal, folk and good fun certainly go together. The band are promoting their seventh album, Seventh Rum of a Seventh Rum, and fresh tracks like The Battle of Cape Fear River or – most relevant to the band's character – P.A.R.T.Y. have already made their way into the classics of their repertoire. Gloryhammer, another project of Christopher Bowes, also behind Alestorm, will also play that night. The band are still promoting 2019's Legends from Beyond the Galactic Terrorvortex, but at the beginning of April they released the hit single Fly Away with a new vocalist. A dwarven vision of heavy metal will be presented by Windy Rose, an Italian band creating rhythmic, often marching folk metal with choral chants and choruses that stick in the skull for far longer than a few minutes. Rounding off the evening will be Rumahoy. A pirate dressed in a bank robbery balaclava, octopuses, flying tombs of pharaonic fish... Already on a visual level, Rumahoy reveals all its plans – there is to be fun and there is to be variety. The latter is abundant here, as riffs ranging from pagan metal to its extreme strains sit side by side with unusual arrangements and extremely memorable melodies.
