Aleksander Kamiński
Aleksander Kamiński is a saxophonist and clarinetist born in Puck. He graduated from the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz in the clarinet class. He was a co-founder and member of the Dziki Jazz quartet, which released its debut album in October 2009. The album was nominated for the Fryderyk 2010 Prize in the Jazz Phonographic Debut of the Year category and was the winner of the Polish Music Lovers' Award of the 3rd Program of Polish Radio in the Improvised Music/Free Jazz/Yass category. He has cooperated with such formations as Contemporary Noise Sextet (special guest on the album Unaffected Thought Flow, performance at the Open'er Festival 2009 in Gdynia, Off Festival 2009), Sing Sing Penelope (two albums: *Electroglide 2010, This is the music 2012) and also with Weronika Korthals, winner of the programme *Szansa na Sukces_ (the album Na Wiedno 2010, On – poems by Rev. Jan Twardowski 2015).
He was a member of "Elljazz Big Band" and "Jazz Big" band 75 in the Palace of Youth in Bydgoszcz. Currently he is a permanent member of the "Jan Konop Big Band". He collaborated with Piotr Dziubek and Magda Kumorek, which resulted in the recording of the album "Śmiercie z poezją Leśmiana". He cooperated as a soloist with the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot conducted by Krzesimir Debski. With the aforementioned formations he actively performs throughout Poland, and has given concerts in Japan (Arabaki Rock Festival 2010), Hungary, Slovakia, England, Scotland and Norway (performance at the Punkt Festival). He takes an active part in the life of the jazz scene in Tricity. Since 2007 he has been playing saxophones and clarinet in the orchestra of the Musical Theatre in Gdynia.
