Alejandro Soto Lacoste
Chilean singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Alejandro Soto Lacoste's music draws mainly from South American styles such as Chilean cueca, huayno, tonada, vals and nueva cancion.
He has studied piano, guitar, accordion and voice. He has also worked extensively in Latin American folk music and popular song, composing and collaborating with musicians such as the well-known Chilean singer-songwriter Nano Stern, the band Aranto, and many others. He currently lives in Germany and works mainly in the Berlin music scene. He has released two solo albums, Interiores (2008) and Presente (2013). In 2012 he started playing with Marta Töpfer in the quartet Trova, together with another Chilean multi-instrumentalist, Cristian Carvacho.
