Wyspa Młyńska

Wyspa Młyńska - the spatial heart of Bydgoszcz. A green enclave in the very center of a 360-thousandth vibrant city. Until now, it has not been captured by the gruesome modern civilization. It's strange! Park, avenues of old trees: chestnuts, lime trees. Large squares of lawns, alleys with benches, noise of rapidly falling water on the weir and the culvert. Around the water. From the Old Town, a fast, nervous Brda-Młynówka with the wall of Bydgoszcz Venice- named after countless picturesque lumps of old outbuildings and annexes. On the other hand, a huge main channel of Brda Górna with the silhouettes of the noble Fara-Cathedral and Opera Nova. Behind the cathedral, the Old Market Square is the most important city square. Between both rivers, a long causeway with dense rows of old trees joining the Młyńska Island with modernity. With the "Solidarity" Bridges at ul. Marshal Foch.

Among the green areas on the Mill Island are also houses. Scattered somewhat chaotically, almost all old, antique. They decide about the special character and mood of the island: old mills, grain warehouses, kaszarnie, granaries. They create an extraordinary, historic industrial landscape. While crossing the Mill Island boundary, the bridge from ul. Niedźwiedzia, from the Old Market Square, or a dyke from bridges at ul. Focha, as if it crossed the time limit.
