While She Sleeps + Malevolence + more
A strong metalcore hit for 11 November. Brits from While She Sleeps will then perform at Warsaw's Progresja in the killer company of Malevolence, Thrown and Resolve.
Over the course of their nearly two decades of activity, and particularly in the second decade of that period, While She Sleeps appear to be at the forefront of the metalcore scene. Moments ago, the Brits shared their sixth album Self Hell, on which, in addition to the band's trademark mix of heavy riffs and upbeat choruses, the quintet is driven by the spirit of 'nothing to lose, everything to achieve' and this certainty can be heard in every sound. In short: an upbeat, touring machine.
The self-denial and hard-working nature of WSS compatriots Malevolence cannot be denied, but I guess that's how it has to be when you come from the City of Steel. They were described in Metal Hammer as 'if Dimebag Darrell had joined Hatebreed to work on a sludge album'. And there's something to that, as in their music you'll hear classically-metalised hardcore, some sludge influences, grooves, all served on full pener.
The Swedes from Thrown will finally arrive with their debut longplayer. Excessive Guilt will be released on 30 August on the Arising Empire label. Metalcore brutality and hardcore aggression – that's definitely to be found here.
The concert will be opened by Frenchmen from Resolve, who also released the album Human last year under the aegis of Arising Empire. Despite the genre's calamity, there are few bands that balance balladry and metalcore as skilfully and feistyly, and this album is proof of that.
