Wai Ting Loretta Lau
Současné umění, Malba | Wai Ting Loretta Lau was born and raised in Hong Kong. She worked as a visual arts teacher for seven years before she moved to Prague in 2018 to study at UMPRUM ( Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design). She works in intermedia, performance art and contemporary painting. Her work explores the boundaries between political and personal identities. Since Hong Kong returned to China after being colonised by Britain, she noticed big changes which inspired her first performance in June 2019 entitled Letter to my people in DOX – Centre For Contemporary Art. It payed tribute to Liu Xiao- bo, the only Chinese Nobel Peace Prize winner and to the students who died during the protests. In October, 2019 she presented another public art performance – Memory Eraser in the National Theatre in Prague. Lau's work is exhibited throughout Europe and is being collected by auction house Fabiani Arte in Italy
