Marijus Aleksa MAPS
Marijus Aleksa is a musician who is based in London, but comes from Lithuania. He is best associated as drummer Bill Laurence, China Moses, Femi Temowo. He also performed with the Gilles Peterson team at the BBC 6 Jazz Special gala. In addition to the role of session musician, Marijus Alexa is also the leader of his own group. MAPS is the culmination of many hours spent in concerts and recording with one of London's leading jazz stages. The debut EP Maps combines elements of jazz, afrobeat and electronic music through jamming and remixing in any form, while keeping the rhythm. Tracks from the first album Marijusa are presented on BBC 1 Radio and are bestsellers of the nu-jazz category, broken beat labels Juno and Phonica. MAPS recordings were also included in the _Top 10 releases of the week label by The Vinyl Factory.
