Tuleje
The band Tuleje is co-founded by vocalist Gosia Zagajewska, double bassist Ksawery Wójciński and drummer Wojtek Kurek, all of whom are associated with the improvised music scene. Their original arrangement of folk music from eastern Wielkopolska is imbued with a deep respect for the original material, while at the same time giving expression to their subjective view of tradition. A bold view, full of references to jazz, blues, early music and free improvisation. Tuleje's debut album, Ciche miejsca (2022, Gustaff Records) is based on folk tunes from around Konin—from the villages of Babiak, Kramsk and Osiek Wielki. Zagajewska's lyrics are strongly inspired by archaic songs, both in their sound and verbal layers.
