Toruń Improvised Orchestra

Toruńska Orkiestra Improwizowana (Improvised Orchestra of Toruń) was formed in January 2019 on the initiative of Maciej Karmiński, a percussionist and experimental musician known from such ensembles as Jesień or Droga Krajowa, who from the very beginning of the formation of this entity has focused on openness in matters such as the formation of the line-up and the amateur-professional character of its conduct. As the name suggests, we are dealing here with a vital, ephemeral and changeable matter - the adjective 'improvised' has been deliberately used to describe a group that is 'permanently forming itself', while at the same time being in constant search of means of expression and a sufficiently interesting language to communicate with the audience. It is worth mentioning the venues in which the orchestra gives concerts, for these are not just concert halls, clubs and so on. - The group enjoys giving concerts in playgrounds, gardens, parks, flats, barns and even rivers.
