Victoria Hanna

Victoria Hanna (Hebrew: ויקטוריה חנה; a stage name consisting of her first and middle names) is an Israeli multi-disciplinary artist, singer and musician.

Jerusalem native Victoria Hanna is more of a voice artist than “just” a singer. She can do wonders with her voice, and has mastered a number of unusual singing techniques. She counts the experimenter Diamanda Galás among her inspirations. She is happy to share her experience and art. In the Czech Republic she has also organised singing workshops as a lecturer of the Hlasohled voice workshop. At the same time, she knows how to humbly cultivate her speech. “The Israeli singer Victoria Hanna is really a phenomenon. Her vocal abilities are incredible, but she doesn't exaggerate, she doesn't overdo it, she prefers to share her beauty rather than being showy and ostentatious,” wrote Tomáš S. Polívka about her successful performance at Colours Of Ostrava 2016. The same was true for Victoria's concerts at the Respect festival in Prague and in club settings.

As the daughter of an Orthodox rabbi, Victoria, in her own words "a very expressive woman", found it difficult to find her place in the world. “My God is not strict, punishing and dogmatic, but liberal and understanding,” she declared during a period of natural youthful defiance. Likewise, in her work she was able to create a natural fusion of spirituality and rebellion. She became famous for rapping cabalistic lyrics to hip hop beats. Or bringing the verses of Song of Songs into the electronic realm. She also attracted a lot of attention with her poignantly danceable rendition of the letters of the Hebrew alphabet Twenty–Two (22) Letters, which she accompanied with a music video.
