Royal Theatre & Club Chic

The Royal theatre is a stylish multicultural space located in the heart of Prague. Its history dates back to 1929 when Emanuel Maceška turned the premises into the city’s largest and most modern cinema. It was originally christened after its founder, however the name was later changed to Illusion. After surviving the tumultuous periods including the Second World War and the Communist regime, the premises were returned to the Maceška family and later taken on by Jean-Christophe Gramont. Tasteful renovation work meant the unique furnishings were preserved right down to the smallest details, affording the space an unrivalled First Republic feel. The Royal Theatre was officially opened in July 2014 and has gone on to becoming one of the most thriving venues in the centre of Prague. The Royal regularly hosts film premieres, concerts, cabaret evenings, memorable soirées, company events and parties.
