The Ethnographic Museum in Torun

The Maria Znamierowska-Prüfferowa Ethnographic Museum in Toruń deals with various aspects of Polish folk culture. Visitors can visit the exhibition Mysteries of Everyday Life..., which tells the story of everyday life in the countryside in the years 1850-1950 in an interesting format, and the Ethnographic Park, which contains monuments of wooden architecture from the nearest ethnographic regions. The Museum conducts rich educational activities for various age groups: children, youth and adults, seniors. It organises concerts of folk music from Poland and abroad and fairs of folk art. Its creator and first long-term director was Professor Maria Znamierowska-Prüfferowa, whose name the museum has borne since 15 December 1999. The Ethnographic Museum in Toruń is one of only three independent ethnographic museums in the country.
