The Devil's Trade + Platon Karataev + By The Spirits

The Devil's Trade, Platon Karataev and By The Spirits will perform at Cracow's Gwarek.

The Devil's Trade is a project that the creator himself, Dávid Makó, describes as a "musical pilgrimage", taking listeners on a long journey with his deeply personal and dark, sometimes doom-soaked folk songs. The music of The Devil's Trade, is Appalachian folk combined with tales of Hungarian and Transylvanian traditions. Platon Karataev is a band formed in 2016 in Budapest. Their first album For Her (2017), put the band on the international map. On their second album Atoms (2020), the band moved away from the acoustic direction they had been following, towards a louder, more expansive sound. The band is already working on their next full-length album, some of whose songs will be performed at concerts before its release. A special guest on the Polish leg of the tour will be By The Spirits, a one-man project on the borderline between folk and neofolk, formed in March 2016 by Michal Krawczuk. It regularly appears on the programmes of the genre's biggest festivals and features on albums by other artists, such as Death In Rome and Osi And The Jupiter. By The Spirits' music is inspired by folk sounds, while the lyrics are about the bonds between man and nature.
