The Black Angels + support: New Candys

The Black Angels will perform at Warsaw's Niebo Club.

This progressive line-up is openly inspired by the work of The Velvet Underground, but spices up their output with even more psychedelia, grime and southern soulfulness. Fans of heavy, twisted music are sure to be delighted. Formed in 2004, The Black Angels almost instantly became one of the leading exponents of the American guitar-driven Southern scene, earning huge fan recognition on the then-popular MySpace portal. Their debut LP Passover was acclaimed for its unique combination of heavy arrangements with indie melodicism and stirring lyrics. There are basically no weak points in TBA's discography, and 2017's Death Song, released in 2017 with hit singles Currency or Life Song, seems to be the band's magnum opus to date. The work of The Black Angels should also be well known to fans of cinema and TV series, as the producers of popular works such as the TV series True Detective or the film Death Sentence were keen to draw on their work.

Supporting The Black Angels will be the Italian band New Candys – dark, twisted rock'n'roll combining noisy sounds and sophisticated melodies in a thoughtful visual framework. They have four studio albums, toured Europe, North America and Australia, supported artists such as The Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Dandy Warhols, done a live session for cult radio station KEXP, and their songs have been featured several times in the TV series Shameless.
