The Album Leaf
The Album Leaf is a music project by former Tristeza guitarist Jimmy LaValle, who was also a member of The Black Heart Procession. The studio albums are influenced by various music styles such as jazz and post-rock are mixed with electronic sounds. Named after a composition by Frédéric Chopin, The Album Leaf was founded in 1998. One year later he released his debut album An Orchestrated Rise to Fall. For the first time, LaValle used a live band on the album A Chorus of Storytellers (2010), which helped him to record the album rather than changing guests who supported him on individual tracks. The album featured two guitarists Matthew Resovich and Drew Andrews, drummer Timothy Reece and bassist Luis Hermosillo. With The Album Leaf, LaValle performed at the Japanese Metamorphose Festival, in the Hollywood Bowl with The Incredible String Band. The album leaf also appeared at the Seattle International Film Festival, where they accompanied the silent movie Sunrise - Song of two people (1927) by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau.
