Ryba

Ekaterina Lyasheva, better known as Ryba, started her career in 1995 as a professional dancer and lead singer of a teenage rock band. In 2000 she co-founded the Back Up advertisement production agency, specializing in event organization and promotion. Working at the agency, she realized numerous projects like concerts, music conferences, festivals and events dedicated to electronic music. With her lifelong passion for music and experience in the event production industry, Ryba had been looking for an outlet for her own ideas and concepts and the logical next step was beginning to DJ.

Katya immediately gained popularity and the attention of the public as well as Moscow's club heads. She began touring in Russia, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Latvia and the US, where she performed at Hollywood's famous Amoeba record store. Her sets are carefully crafted from smart layers of electronic dance music: dub, techno, house and everything in between.

Ryba has collaborated with world-famous Russian duo SCSI-9. They recorded several tracks together, with Ekateria providing vocals for the Line Of Nine album, which appeared through Kompakt in 2006. Katya and SCSI-9 toured together for a while, presenting a live act. In 2008, they released a second joint album, again through Kompakt. At the same time, she produced White Blue Fire together with Yapacc, which was released through the German Nuetonmusic label.

It was also in 2008 that she started her project Rybalove, the result of a long-time friendship with talented musician Korablove from Saint Petersburg. They perform together live, presenting shows full of energy and grooves. Their releases found their way to labels like KGB Beats from Chicago, Night Drive Music and others. In 2009, Katya started another project, D:redmoon, developing more and more to an all-round musician.

Ryba organizes events alongside her friend Yuka: Habits Die. The promotion collective presents electronic music events in Moscow inviting numerous international and local artists. She also often plays for internet radio stations such as RTS.FM or at Berlin's and Moscow's clubs.
