Nowa Miodowa
The building at 21 Rakowiecka Street has always been associated with children - it was erected in 1901 as the Girls' Orphanage and served as an orphanage until the end. Abandoned and deteriorating for many years, today, expanded to include a modern music section, it has become a school - a home for music education and, at the same time, for music of the highest quality. At its heart, as a destination for an educational musical journey, is the concert hall, whose mastery and precision of performance inspires the young to work tirelessly and reach the playing level of the professional musicians and artists it hosts at concerts.
The design of the hall was the responsibility of Tomasz Konior and Konior Studio - the team responsible, among other things, for the headquarters of the Academy of Music in Katowice and, above all, for the fantastic headquarters of the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra. The acoustics of the hall were supervised by master Yasuhisa Toyota - director and chief designer of the renowned acoustic engineering company Nagata Acoustics from Los Angeles and Tokyo, author of the extraordinary Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Bard College Performing Arts in New York, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, and many other concert halls around the world.
