Muzeum Ziemi Braniewskiej
The Braniewo Land Museum was opened on 3 September 2016 in the former Hosianum High School and is run by the Braniewo Lovers' Society. Braniewo – as the first capital of Warmia, the seat of the first Warmian bishops fully deserved to exhibit rich collections. The collections refer to historical museum traditions of pre-war Braniewo. In 1880, thanks to the efforts of Wilhelm Weissbrodt, professor of philosophy at the Hosianum High School in Braniewo, an extraordinary collection of exhibits was created. Among others, several hundred priceless monuments from Greece, Italy and Egypt. Visiting the exhibition is free of charge. In this way, the Museum refers to the tradition of pre-war museums in Braniewo, to which admission was also free.
