Muzeum Śląskie
The location of the museum in a former mining area is a reminder of the important role of industry in the region. The former coal mine has been turned into a unique cultural mine, offering rich and diverse collections at a depth of 14 metres below ground level. In the depths of the ground there are old and modern Polish art galleries, the Gallery of Silesian sacred art and the only Gallery of non-professional art in Poland. There are also educational rooms, a library with a reading room, an auditorium, an educational corner for children and a unique 12.5 m high space for temporary exhibitions.
