Info o umělci Mudi
Mudi is a rapper from Berlin, Germany. He grew up as the son of Kurdish/Lebanese parents in Berlin-Schöneberg, who fled to Germany as a result of the Lebanese civil war. Mudi came to music through artists like Bushido or Kool Savas. At a young age, he realized that he could better grasp emotions in songs, so he wrote his first texts and his first song for his mother.
At the age of 15, Mudi wrote lyrics and rapped on beats from his cousin, which he put on YouTube. Mudi got a contract with the label The Royals, which his cousin Hamudi had founded. In 2010, the video Flügel was released on Youtube, from which Mudi became known to a larger audience.
First influenced by the early German gangsta rap in the style of Kool Savas and Bushido, Mudi began to copy their lyrics and attitude. So he rapped about life in social housing in Berlin-Schöneberg and life on the street. But then he realized that this is not his own identity and he wants to express something different with his art. He felt more mature and began to incorporate influences of Arabic music into his songs. It changed his texts to soulful and balladesque. He described his style as “Arabesque Rap”. He picks up on other topics, his songs now dealing with growing up, Islam and the Qur’an, ballads about people close to him, and broken hearts instead of street violence. However, Mudi often raps about war and suffering because of the stories he heard from his family about the Lebanese war.
