Mazen Kerbaj
Experimentální, Malba | Mazen Kerbaj is a Lebanese improvisational musician (trumpet), music producer, writer and comic artist. Mazen works as a comic artist, painter and musician; he published his first book Journal 1999, a diary in comic form, in 2000 after various contributions to magazines (such as Wire, Lapin and Le tour du monde en bande dessinee), furthermore over eight other books and short story collections.
His paintings, drawings and cartoons have been exhibited widely, including at the Janine Rubeiz Gallery in Beirut. Mazen Kerbaj is also a co-founder of the Lebanese improvisation scene, as a member of the musicians' organization MILL, which has organized the annual Irtijal Festival in Beirut since 2001.
