Martin & James
Martin and James are a British singer-songwriter musician duo consisting of Martin Kelly and James O’Neill.
Already in 1999, Kelly and O’Neill came together to make music. After a temporary separation, in which both musicians dedicated time to their own projects, the two Scots decided to make music together again after 2000. In 2008, the duo signed a contract with Universal Music Germany and moved to Berlin. In the same year, they began work on their first studio recording in Hamburg together with the musicians Albert Hammond, Iain Archer and Fran Healy, resulting in two EPs. At the same time, Martin and James acts such as Taylor Swift, The Fray, Razorlight, Stereophonics, Simply Red, OneRepublic, Amy Macdonald, Ellie Goulding, James Morrison, Milow, Lissie, Ingrid Michaelson and Scouting for Girls joined the European tours.
Their first EP Bad Dream was released in 2009, followed in 2010 by the EP Wrong Directions, which was also included in the soundtrack to the movie What a Man. On March 18th, 2011 the first single All Over the News was released. 2011 finally followed the release of the first album Martin and James. It was followed by a tour of Germany with Jim Kroft as support.
In 2012, Martin and James won the Newcomer Award from drums.de.
