Marina Prudenskaya

Klasická, Opera | Marina Prudenskaya, mezzo soprano, was born in St. Petersburg and got her first engagement at the Stanislavski Theater in Moscow after her vocal studies at the conservatorium there. In the year 2000, she changed to the Nuremberg State Theater where she elaborated many roles of her repertoire. Besides many other prizes, she won the ARD music competition in 2003.

From 2005 to 2007 she was a member of ensemble of Deutsche Oper Berlin. Guest performances such as at the Aix-en-Provence Festival and the Bayreuth Festival as well as at various European opera houses followed. From 2007 to 2013, she was a fixed member of the ensemble of the Stuttgart Opera, where she is performing on a regular base until today.

Since 2013, Marina Prudenskaya has been a member of the ensemble of the Berlin State Opera, where she performs the roles of the composer in Ariadne auf Naxos, Venus in Tannhäuser and Eboli in Don Carlo. Moreover, she gave guest performances in Valencia in Giuseppe Verdi's Aida, in Stuttgart in Mussorgski's Chowanschtschina, gave her debut as Azucena in Verdi's Il trovatore at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and returned to the Bayreuth Festival as Waltraute in Götterdämmerung.
