Marina Abramović: The Cleaner

World-class artist Marina Abramović will come to Toruń for the opening of a great retrospective exhibition of her works at the Centre for Contemporary Art Znaki Czasu. The retrospective will include 120 works by the artist from half a century of her activity. Some of her student paintings and drawings will be shown to the public for the first time. There will be no shortage of the loudest projects. These include the performance "Balkan Baroque", awarded at the Venice Biennale of Art and created after the outbreak of the war in Yugoslavia, or the drastic "Rhythm" in which the artist put herself at the disposal of the audience, and over time they started to behave more and more brutally, injuring her and threatening her life. Apart from documenting the artist's performances, some of them will be recreated by young artists selected in casting. The exhibition of Marina Abramović's works entitled "The Cleaner" was prepared by The Moderna Museet from Stockholm, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art from Humlebæk in Denmark, Bundeskunsthalle from Bonn, Museum in Florence and CSW "Znaki Czasu" from Toruń in cooperation with the Marina Abramović Institute in New York and the "Tumult" Foundation.
