Lubelska Trasa Podziemna

The Lublin Underground is a 280-meter tourist route that runs under the Market Square and tenement houses in the Old Town. The route was created as a result of joining a dozen or so of numerous Old Town cellars, whose history dates back to the beginning of the 16th century, i.e. the century of Lublin's greatest splendor. They were partly connected by corridors and thus an underground labyrinth was created under the city. An additional attraction of the underground are Monday performances. The Lublin Underground Route connects two places important for Lublin: it starts in the former town hall, i.e. in the center of secular power, and ends at the remains of the church of St. Archangel Michael, formerly focusing the religious life of the city.
