Prouza

Prouza is a Frýdek-Místek rock band founded in 1989, which ranks among the important stalwarts of the Czech rock club scene.

The band Prouza made its first public appearance on 17 November 1989. Already in 1990 they released their first LP album In a ragged house, which was accompanied by a successful video On the outside on Czech television. After a longer break (1994–2001), the band started to perform again with a renewed line-up and in 2007 a new album V tichosti was released. In 2013, after 6 years, Prouza released a new long-playing CD Ve starém městě, proving their unmistakable position on the domestic rock scene. As part of the promotion of the new album, a single with a music video for the song Krok po kroku was also released. At the end of 2017, the then singer Karel Mařík left the band and Prouza went into hibernation.

Prouza got back together in 2022 to celebrate their "Christ years". The last three surviving members of the original line-up – Láďa Franek, Broňa Svoboda and Boris Závada – returned to the band. The deceased guitarist Dusan Helstyn was replaced by his son Filip, while the vocals were taken over by the third frontman in a row, Tomas Gavlas.
