Onyx

New York group Onyx was founded in 1988 and became a pioneering voice in East Coast hardcore hip-hop in the 1990s, with their 1993 hit single Slam paving the way for the genre's introduction to MTV. Originally a four-piece, Onyx currently comprises rappers Fredro Starr and Sticky Fingaz; they've released eighteen studio albums, which have included collaborations with the likes of Wu-Tang Klan, 50 Cent, DMX and ASAP Ferg.
