Life of Agony
Life of Agony formed in Brooklyn in 1989 and debuted four years later with the album River Runs Red, hailed by Rolling Stone as one of the best metal albums of all time. Their sound, combining hardcore D-beats inspired by the New York scene of the genre, thrash riffs and the grunge baritone of frontwoman Mina Caputo, one of the first out transgender women in metal. After a couple of hiatuses and turns towards a slightly lighter sound, Life of Agony has six studio albums to their name, the latest being 2019's The Sound of Scars.
